I’m a wife. I’m a mum. I work. I don’t have time to think about stuff a lot. Especially not boring stuff – like cleaning. Not if I want it to get done anyway. Yawn for what can be such a boring topic – cleaning.
I wanted to make some cleaning checklists for weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly and annual cleaning tasks. I want to make life easier! So that we don’t do spend too much time doing stuff we don’t enjoy.
Now, I’ve thought long and hard about this. How would I make them so that it would suit everyone? Not all houses are the same. Not all lifestyles are the same. Not all time families are the same. Come to think of it, everything varies from person to person, family to family and home to home. So, I’ve made some generic printable cleaning sheets – one for weekly, one for fortnightly – I’m still playing with designs for the rest of them. These are intended to be used as follows:
- Print them.
- Laminate them.
- Write on them when you see something that needs doing.
- Schedule some time every day – 15 or 20 minutes and pick something off the list.
- Do it.
- Do the fun stuff you want to do.
I don’t necessarily use them in this way – I like to have mine pre-printed and then eye-ball the place to see if what I have on the list needs to be done in the time I’ve scheduled to do it in. Usually this is after dinner – and it’s a joint effort.
My secret to getting things done, is not to do it all myself. My husband helps (A LOT), and my kids help (A LOT – even the 2-year-old). I figure that I’m setting them up for what’s to come in life, and also, the quicker we get this stuff done, the quicker we can play!
So, without any further delay – here you go (links below) – some nice sheets to print and customize to YOUR needs. I’ll share my customized ones with you another day 😉
You will notice that Sunday isn’t on there – that’s because we all need to rest!
