Please don’t tell me that starfish story again!

Thanks to the Scruffyvicar for this one, a good reminder of how our actions can have a ripple effect.

I used like the Star-fish story, you probably know the one? It is of a man seeing another man on beach which is covered in starfish drying out and dying in the heat of the sun. The man is throwing starfish into the sea. The other man laughs at this fellow, and says to him “there are thousands of star fish you can’t make difference to them all!” To which the guy replied by picking up another starfish and threw it into the sea saying “well, it made a difference to that one!”

It is good to be reminded that everyday acts of kindness can be life-transforming-blessing to other people, that the way we live our lives does speaks volumes and our words can hold life/hope/salvation.

I think we often don’t realize the impact that we can make on the people we meet or the surrounding we are in.

What does “follow me” mean to you?

What does it mean to follow? We follow bloggers on wordpress. We follow people on instagram. We follow pages on Facebook. In the real world outside social media following someone is downright creepy and at times illegal these days. But on these platforms we encourage it and welcome followers with open arms! On Sunday the … Continue reading What does “follow me” mean to you?

Rebelling against my parents and attempting to conform into something "cooler" than myself. This rebellion actually started years earlier. Around the … Continue reading Grace wins.

5 CATASTROPHIC IMPLICATIONS OF WHEN CHRISTIANS ‘CUSS’…

Not my own words today, however, this has given me a lot to think about today, and hope it will guide others too! Thanks to Be Blesstified!

I once heard a man tell his son in the barbershop, “Son, you aren’t old enough to ‘cuss’. When are you old enough to cuss?

Arguments more convincing…

Good parents will allow coaches to ‘cuss’ their children to ‘get the best out of them’.

People who deal with those who use profanity claim you have to ‘speak their language’ to get through to them.

Our movies, television shows, comedians, songs and sometimes even those in authority reinforce a culture of profanity.

God said very clearly that we are to not allow corrupt, unwholesome, coarse language come from our mouths…

Ephesians 4:29  (NKJV)

29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

Breathe.

This morning replicated other mornings, rushed - go go go! When I dropped my children off at my mum's, my littlest little person was heartbroken. He cried and pleaded for his mummy. And my heart ached. I wanted to say yes, let's go home, mummy doesn't have to go. Instead I gave him another cuddle … Continue reading Breathe.
